Here are the eleven past and present Carlton Football Club V.F.L/A.F.L Premiership Captains, from 1906 to 1995 (with a bit of a future Captain predicted at the bottom there as “202?” on the blue and yellow football). I completed this on the 30th of June 2022, and it was done as a present for my brother on his birthday. The mediums (or “media”) used were ink and gouache paints on A3-size watercolour paper.
The top five were hardest because old photographs (and old cigarette cards) don’t give you much to work with. Also (for aesthetic reasons) I changed some historic details, making the older jumpers lighter and having the newer guernseys darken as the time period moves closer to the present. The actual navy blue colour has been around since 1908 (Fred Elliott’s captaincy) or thereabouts. Not sure about the historical accuracy of the yellow (as opposed to white) C.F.C on Fred’s guernsey; and the yellow on the top of Jimmy Flynn’s laced-up jumper has been inverted to a downward-turning, sharper “V” because it fills more space up there than the original design (an upward-turning, shallower “V”).

The image is a little bit faded-looking and fuzzy, but that’s the fault of my cheap scanner and lousy image-manipulation skills, trust me!!
Hmm. It is pretty blurry. May come back to this later with a tidier version…
